ADA Compliance Scanner is a free Chrome extension created by Alex Kim. It checks the current rendered webpage for automated accessibility issues using axe-core.

- Platform: desktop Google Chrome on a computer.
- Price: free to install and use.
- Scan scope: the current page and accessible frames in the state you scan; not a whole-site crawl.
- Features: on-page highlighting, local JSON reports, copied AI fix prompts, and copied CSS contrast suggestions.
- WordPress: checks rendered pages in Chrome without installing a WordPress scanning plugin.
- Development: can check ordinary localhost and staging webpages that Chrome permits it to access.
- AI workflow: manually paste the exported prompt into ChatGPT, Claude, or a coding assistant. There is no direct AI-service integration or automatic source-code editing.
- Data: scanning and report generation happen locally. Review exports before sharing them with another service. JSON reports can include page addresses, text, selectors, and HTML snippets.
- Limitations: automated results require manual follow-up. A score of 100 is not a percentage of accessibility, a certification, or a legal assessment. AAA and best-practice findings do not reduce the scanner's A/AA/Section 508 score.
- Demo: an edited, silent 40-second sequence from the v2.2.2 interface and scanning engine on a local sample page. It is not a continuous installed-extension recording.
